Governor Murphy officially launched the Third Year of Charge Up NJ EV Incentive Program and New Residential EV Charger Program on July 25, 2022. The Charge Up NJ EV Incentive Program is a key component of the Energy Master Plan, the State’s roadmap to reaching 100% clean energy by 2050. The program aims to reduce GHG emissions through encouraging equitable access to the benefits of the EV transition. Specifically, the State will provide incentives of up to $4,000 for vehicles with MSRP under $45,000 and incentives of up to $2,000 for vehicles with an MSRP between $45,000 and $55,000. Additionally, the State is launching the new Residential EV Charger Incentive Program, which offers a $250 rebate for home chargers.
To expedite the EV transition process, the Clean Fleet EV Incentive Program encourages residential charging station implementation and EV usage. The Program allows both local and state government entities in NJ to apply for $4,000 grants towards the purchase of battery electric vehicles, $5,000 grants for public Level-Two chargers, and $4,000 grants towards the purchase of fleet Level-Two EV charging station(s)
