Free Mobile App Now Available to Residents

‘Recycle Coach’ Connects Users to Local Recycling Information
Somerset County has launched Recycle Coach, a free mobile app that is now available to residents. The app is designed to make recycling and solid waste information easily accessible as well as promote the “go green” goal of reducing, reusing and recycling within the community.

Residents can access Recycle Coach from their desktop computers, mobile devices, or through digital assistants such as Amazon’s Alexa and Google Home.

The app provides personalized collection schedules based on a person’s place of residence. After a resident downloads the Recycle Coach app, their mobile calendar will list Somerset County’s recycling events along with local curbside and recycling schedules, and schedule changes due to holidays or inclement weather.

Users of the app can improve their recycling rates by simply programming recycling reminders using the What Goes Where search tool.

The State Department of Environmental Protection has made New Jersey the first state to purchase the Recycle Coach app and make it available to all New Jersey residents free of charge.

Download the free Recycle Coach app through Google Play, the Apple Store, or access the app at www.co.somerset.nj.us/recycle-coach.
